Birkhouse Moor and Catstycam

Monday was such a good day that Ged, Kas and I decided to repeat the walk of six weeks ago that we did in snow, wind and mist, but this time we could actually admire the view. We walked from Glenridding up to Birkhouse Moor (2350ft) to Red Tarn. This time we would add on Catstycam (2917ft) and return via Keppel Cove. A walk of about 8 miles.
It is a very long trudge up to the summit of Birkhouse Moor, but today the views out to Striding Edge, Helvellyn and Catstycam were superb. Last time we could barely see 20m in front of us!

A spring day walk up Gummers How

Now I know I was told that it would be at least six weeks before my knee would be recovered from the cartilage op but three and a half weeks is near enough!
It was a beautiful day that needed a walk, so late in the afternoon we went up Gummers How....nothing too extreme for my knee`s first walk. Lots of people on their way up and down, but the good views made up for it! Lots of sail boats on Windermere too.

New Spring Bed

Last year I made a new bed for spring bulbs under the Willow tree. It is too shady in the summer for much else. Now spring is here and it is not looking too bad!

The chillies are looking good!

These are last season`s chillies that I managed to overwinter on the bedroom windowsill.
